For the battles we have, on and off the mats.

I created this illustration a little over a year ago, and a lot of you resonated with it. For me, it was about struggling to come to peace with the fact that I’ve had multiple injuries in the past few years that have taken me off my progress trajectory with jiu-jitsu. I felt like I “should” be better, given how long I’ve been training.

My ego-led version of myself didn’t align with reality, and that’s a discomforting place to be. It’s also the place where we have a chance to grow and put the lessons from the mats into practice.
